Using Assessment Results to Improve Student Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Our schools collect a great deal of information about student learning and experiences, and much of it goes unused when it comes to making decisions about the design of courses and curriculum. Participants in this highly interactive workshop will have the opportunity to:

  1. reflect on how you currently use assessment results about student learning and student experiences

  2. think through what specific improvements assessment results might point to, identifying both potential groups with whom you will want to engage and the changes in practice you wish to accomplish

  3. apply to Woodward’s culture some principles of how to create a culture that uses assessment results to understand student growth

  4. discuss an example of one specific campus’s assessment results related to student learning, including programming for faculty, staff and administrators informed by evidence of student growth

  5. consider possible next steps to utilize assessment results about student growth with faculty and staff, including activities and events.
