The Main Philosophy behind my Building Champions model comes from the quote my father created when building his first state championship team "We are not champions because we win, we win because we are champions." Our goals as coaches are to first identify what characteristics of building champions we are wanting to instill in our athletes. -Qualities of a champion student-athlete. -Understanding the difference between being a champion and winning. -Goal Setting (short term and long term goals) -Remembering the importance of fun (creating enthusiasm) -Keeping focus on your goals as a coach, creating a 5 year plan for yourself and your staff. -Knowing your role as a coach and a role model and never forgetting that our number 1 goal is to build character and create opportunity for growth in our young student-athletes.
