Sensory Processing: Normal Development and Disorder - Impact in the Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Have you ever wondered what Occupational Therapists (OT) do and why? What is Sensory Processing, and what does it mean for you, your students, and your classroom? This workshop will answer those questions and more! Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to explain what an Occupation Therapist is and what they do.  Participants will also learn how they can intervene to address challenges. Recognize how sensory processing occurs in normal development, and how movement and other sensory inputs and activities help with learning, attention, and self-regulation for all children. Differentiate Sensory Processing difficulties from developmentally appropriate behaviors and skills. Leave with a collection of practical strategies to use in your classroom to help students who are struggling, as well as those who are not.
